Event Details
In this intensive workshop, students will learn not only about the technical aspects of Ramadan, but also the spiritual and practical aspects of this blessed month. Most new Muslims are told to fast without actually being told what fasting entails. We will explore the Fiqh of Fasting, including things to do to increase reward and things to avoid that may negate the same rewards. We will also elaborate on one's relationship with Allah 'azza wa jal and using Ramadan as a means to get closer to Him. Some of the basic rules of Zakat-ul-Mal and Zakat-ul-Fitr will be discussed. And of course, what's Ramadan without a little enjoyment? We will show students Halal and meritorious ways of celebrating Ramadan and 'Eid, and discuss ways to strengthen community and brotherhood.
